The Valentine Neighborhood Association hosted “Thirsty Thursday” events before COVID, on the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m., with various neighbors hosting happy-hour style parties on their porches or in the yards and inviting all neighbors to bring their own drinks. Since COVID restrictions took effect, Thirsty Thursdays have been on hold. We are currently monitoring vaccination levels in Kansas City and will resume these events when it seems safe. Meanwhile, neighbors are encouraged to get together in small groups for small Thirsty Thursday gatherings if they feel safe. When the weather is colder, we host Firepit Fridays instead.
