4th of July Parade and Picnic

Valentine is gearing up for our annual 4th of July celebration. We hope to see everyone, new residents and those who have lived here for years, for our parade and picnic – one of our most popular events of the year.

Planning is still underway, but here’s all the details you need to know:

The parade begins at noon north of the intersection of Jefferson and Valentine. For the parade, we encourage everyone, especially kids, to dress up. And feel free to bring your dog in its favourite costume!

Parade route: Starting at Jefferson just north of Valentine Road; turn east on Valentine; turn south on Pennsylvania; turn west on 38th Street. The parade ends on the block of Jefferson between 37th and Valentine.

Note: The block of Jefferson between 37th and Valentine will be closed off shortly before the parade and will reopen after the social hour has ended.

Stick around for a picnic immediately following the parade.   The neighborhood will supply the hamburgers and hotdogs and beverages (as long as they last). You should bring a side dish to share and chairs if you need them. Watch our neighborhood email for details on how to sign up for what type of a dish you can bring.
